Between 1942 and 1949, some 21,000 Japanese Canadians were stripped of homes and property, and forcibly relocated far from coastal British Columbia. Thousands remade their lives in Ontario, often working in Niagara farms and factories. The story of Japanese Canadians in Niagara is one of hardship, but also great resilience.
