The Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine bridge-tunnel, which links the island of Montréal and the South Shore, was inaugurated in time for Expo 67. This exceptional structure – still the longest of its kind in the country – is not only a feat of engineering; it reflects a turning point in the history of Quebec.
