extensively as a UNICEF
representative to third world
countries around the world.
Kate Aitken died in 1971
at the age of 81. Two years
later, in the month of June
day, one thousand people
gathered in Beeton Park as
the Beeton Women's Institute
| (which Kate helped found)
placed a plaque in memory of
this incredible woman.
The Museum on the Boyne
and the Town of New Tecumseth
are proud to celebrate the
legacy of Kate Aitken in the
pantheon of local outstanding
citizens such as Sir
Frederick Banting, T.P.
| Loblaw and Emily Murphy.
