Samuel Davis graduated in civil engineering at the University of New Brunswick in 1938 and earned a Master’s in civil engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1939.  He worked at Noorduyn Aviation in Montreal during the Second World War, ensuring that Norseman and Harvard aircraft met Canadian, American and British military standards.
