Our vision for the future of the Fire Department, obviously, is to move into our new fire hall very soon. Which is kind of a part of the 150th anniversary. Part of our vision for the future – but I can’t say if it’s short, medium or long term – we’re definitely talking about regionalization, working together with other cities. Because at the moment, in Québec… every city has always tried to buy the best possible equipment when actually, we could all work together… and, strategically, say: OK, at the central point, we’ll put a ladder truck. Further away, we’ll put a tanker, and we can all respond together. At the moment, each city responds to its own incidents. From time to time we ask our neighbouring cities to come and give us a hand. So, in the future, are we going to regionalize, or pool the resources of the different departments? Maybe, probably… well, definitely. To make the others’ work easier. But we’re not there yet. But that’s pretty much what we’ll be seeing in the future.
