Claude Jean: Becoming a Firefighter

In those days I used to work near the Emergency Response Office. It was between the fire hall and the municipal courthouse. And the office of the chief… the director of the Fire Department, M. Bissonnet, was at the municipal court. So, the truck and the offices were there. Every Friday, we did our drills and everything. Checking inventory and all that. And I struck up a friendship with the chief, and he suggested that I apply to the Fire Department. So eventually, I applied… at the beginning of 1980, and I became a firefighter in Saint-Eustache in 1980.
