12th York Battalion of Infantry become the Queen’s York Rangers

As a part of Canada’s National Defence Network, the 12th York Battalion of Infantry would go through many incarnations before being redesigned as the Queen’s York Rangers in 1936.
1866 – 12th York Battalion of Infantry
1872 – 12th Battalion of Infantry or York Rangers
1900 – 12th Regiment, York Rangers
1920 – York Rangers and Queen’s Rangers
1936 – The Queen’s York Rangers, 1st American Regiment
