Activity on the Outdoor Rink

Town of Aurora, 2015
People have enjoyed skating and playing hockey in Town Park since the late 1800s. Each winter the local paper would publish a schedule so both pleasure skaters and hockey enthusiasts could plan their ice time.
During the late 1800s and early 1900s citizens would request permission from Council to operate and manage the rink; often times the same person took care of the ice for many years in a row.
Currently, the Town of Aurora manages the rink and it continues to be a cherished feature of the park.
