The Aurora Football Club poses for a team picture in Town Park.

Football in Aurora dates back to at least 1886 with the formation of a football club. During these early years it is unclear whether the teams were playing Rugby Football or Association Football (soccer). By 1914, the game is referred to locally as soccer-football.
