Victory in Europe (VE) Day was the public holiday that commemorated the Nazi’s formal surrender to the Allies thereby ending World War II in Europe. It was celebrated in Europe on May 8th and in Canada and other Commonwealth nations on May 7th. Of course, Town Park was chosen as the location for Aurorans to celebrate.
