Welcoming Home WWI Soldiers, 1919

York County’s official welcome home to WWI soldiers was held in Town Park in July, 1919. The event featured a full day of sports and returning soldiers were encouraged to participate in the track and field events as well as the baseball and football match.
Over 8,000 people filled the park to capacity in order to welcome home the returning soldiers.
