Almonte Station

Rail service began in Almonte in 1859, connecting Carleton Place, Smiths Falls, Perth, and Almonte  via the Brockville and Ottawa Railway. While the routes changed over the years, passenger  service in Almonte only ended in 1969. Where the station used to stand is now the Almonte branch of the Mississippi Mills public library.
