Cutlery from Blythe Farm
Photo: Peter Oliver Permission to photograph was given by the Fenelon Museum Management Board.
This is a set of basic cutlery from Blythe Farm circa 1840. The cutlery is held in a modern butternut chest with a glass top. The handles of the knives and forks are made of bone of animals that were hunted by the Langton family.
Butternut trees were a plenty on Blythe Farm in 1840 and John used the wood for the interior and exterior of Blythe Farm.
Much of the furniture and wooden items, including wall panelling and tools were made from the butternut trees from Blythe Farm on Sturgeon Lake, Fenelon Falls.
The cutlery is on display at the Fenelon Museum.
