Giving Up “The Hill”

Sunday after Sunday, faithful parishioners, including the Langtons, the Wallis and so many more Fenelon Falls families, climbed the slope to worship in their hilltop church.

Finally, it was realized that the steep and winding approach was a continual inconvenience for elderly members of the congregation, and impossibility for a horse and carriage, especially in the harsh weather of the winter months.

As a result, plans were drawn up for a new building at the foot of “Church Hill.”
