A Set of Altar Books

Set of Altar Books found in St. James. The covers are light brown worn leather. The Gospel Book is inside a simple box while the Communion book and Prayer book sit on either side of Gospel.

The set contains a hymnbook, a Holy Bible and prayer book. All three of the books stay on the altar and are used by the Minister or Priest of a church.  The Gospel book is used by the Priest during mass and is kept on a large bronze bookstand.  The communion books would also be on the altar for the Priest’s use.
