Mr. J. Wallis, and other local residents or visiting clergy conducted the first services from 1835 to 1837.
From 1838 to 1839, the Rev. C.T. Wade and the Rev. G.C. Street serviced the newly formed parish for the purpose of conducting baptism, confirmation, marriages, funerals and administering Holy Communion.
A local resident, Rev. J.H. Dunsford, a local resident also served on occasion.
The Rev. Thomas Fidler served from 1839 to 1847. After Rev. Fidler’s untimely death, the Rev. Robert Shanklin and Rev. John Hickie served until 1856.
Anne Langton also acted as parson in the first log church as she noted in her Journal on December 8, 1839:
Notwithstanding the state of the roads, our congregation, which again assembles during Mr. Fidler’s absence, was an excellent one. We numbered 21. John (Langton) being away, I was Parson and took my text from Romans 14, verse 15.
