By 1911 there were almost 1,000,000 apple trees in the Okanagan. Packinghouses opened throughout the valley, and over the next fifty years at least twenty packinghouses operated in Lake Country.
The District of Lake Country is located in the Okanagan valley in south central British Columbia and is made up of four community wards: Oyama, Winfield, Carr’s Landing and Okanagan Centre.
