“We used to get 3¢ a pack. Now they wouldn’t even put one apple in for 3¢. Well, in those days, they were the big apple boxes and they held about 40 lbs of apples. We had to wrap them all. A good packer would pack 150 boxes of apples a day if the fruit was running good and worked steady.”
