1905 Labrador solar eclipse expedition

Plaskett was hired by the Dominion Observatory in 1903. He was put in charge of organizing the Observatory’s expedition to the August 1905 solar eclipse in Labrador. This was an immense undertaking as the scientific equipment had to be transported by ship and then hauled over 1km inland to be setup. The expedition arrived safely in Labrador and setup their equipment over the next 3 weeks. Sadly, the weather did not cooperate and the eclipse was clouded out. This image was taken by Plaskett.
