Herzberg Astronomy and Astrophysics Research Centre
National Research Council Canada
Observatory Hill is now the location of one the world’s premier astronomy centres. The Herzberg Astronomy and Astrophysics Research Centre (HAA) is part of the National Research Council. The engineering staff construct instruments for some of the world’s largest telescopes. HAA hosts the Canadian Astronomy Data Centre (CADC). The CADC was formed in 1986 as one of three sites hosting the data from the Hubble Space Telescope. The astronomers perform world-class research using a range of telescopes from the telescopes on site to the James Webb Space Telescope.
