John Stanley Plaskett wins awards

In July 1930 Plaskett returned home with two very prestigious awards. These awards recognized his outstanding work in astronomy. He first was awarded the Rumford Prize, awarded by the American Academy of Arts and Sciences It  is one of the oldest scientific prizes in the United States. He also received Gold Medal of the Royal Astronomical Society in the UK. This is the highest award given by the Royal Astronomical Society.
