The Observatory attracted school visits

The Observatory attracted school visits as soon as it opened. While these school classes were mostly from the Victoria area, some were from schools further away. In later years, the sight of yellow school buses carefully driving up the road to the Observatory was a familiar sight to the people who worked there. Adults who grew up in Victoria have fond memories of their Observatory visits.
