Lady Peace Crash

Black and white photograph of the Lady Peace, piloted by Dick Merrill, that had crash landed in a bog in Musgrave Harbour and was flown to Harbour Grace for repairs. The picture shows several men looking under the wing of the plane inspecting for damage. The man to the far left with the straw hat could be Rickenbacker. Barrels and boards can be seen underneath holding up the wings.

Much of the newspaper accounts were sensationalized of this event from Musgrave Harbour, with reports suggesting that the Lady Peace was floating in a bog, with its pilots jokingly forced to sleep in the woods with the moose.
