Interviewer: What was the money like?
Jack: Well money you had to make your own money. You get paid by the cord see.
Interviewer: So it all depended on how much you cut…
Jack: If you cut two cord, that was $5. I think twas $4 a cord one summer. A good woodcutter could cut six or seven cords. You had to be a good woodcutter to cut six cords. My father, me and he used to cut four cords.
Interviewer: So you worked in groups or pairs…
Jack: Me and he worked together.
Interviewer: So was that a day.
Jack: In a day we would cut four cords, yeah. Send $5 to the crowd home.
