Interviewer: When you were on the doctor boat, was there anything that came aboard the boat, like disease or virus or something like that, that made the crew nervous? Back then I suppose TB or whatever was on the go…
Leo: Well TB was on the go at that time back when we started first. I knew two or three people that had to be sent to the Sanitorium with TB. They used to be sick sometimes for several months, you know. Sometimes, they would come aboard.
Interviewer: And they didn’t know what they had.
Leo: They didn’t really know… they didn’t see (the doctor) very often. That’s like we had one person die (onboard) with it.
