John Thomas Pierre’s tailor shop was located on the west side of Douglas Street between Johnson Street and Pandora Avenue. John Thomas was born in Victoria on April 16, 1865 so he would have been about 25 in this picture. His father, Thomas Whiting Pierre started the business in 1858, entered into a partnership with his son circa 1890. Through a partition at the back of the store you can discern 2 people working.
