This image shows the gas-fired kilns at Innerkip Lime and Stone Company in 1939. This company started with 2 coal-fired kilns in 1929. These were likely built in 1936. Innerkip Lime and Stone later became known as Chemical Lime. In 1946, Chemical Lime was purchased by The Steel Company of Canada (Stelco). At this point, Charlie Downing was replaced by a new manager, J.D. Campbell.
