A Set Kiln from West of Beachville

An average set kiln measured about 10 feet tall and 6 feet wide. It was built into the side of a hill so the horses and wagons transporting stone to the fire could easily unload into the kiln.
The set kiln, pictured above, was located south of the Thames River. It has since disappeared beneath new growth but remains identifiable along Beachville Road to those who remember its location.
