Beachville District Museum operates out of one of Beachville’s historic limestone structures – the former residence of the Downing family. The first floor was constructed of colourful fieldstone by Philander King in 1851. The second floor, added in 1902, is a chalkier colour, indicating it was constructed of limestone sourced from the Downings’ quarries.
The museum researches Beachville’s quarries and shares the local histories of Beachville, Zorra Township, and South-West Oxford Township with the public.
