Eddie Jones’ Meat Market

Audio recording of Wendy Hauser, daughter-in-law of Bingo and longtime family friend of the Hauser family. Conducted by North American Carnival Museum & Archives, June 2017.
“I remember there was a meat market called Eddie Jones’ Meat Market, not too far from Jackie and Bingo’s house. And so, I didn’t know the Hausers at the time, so my family would drive up to the meat market and there would be a couple of monkeys swinging in the glass window. That was the big attraction back in Langley way back, it would be 1958 by then. And so, I think Bingo and Jackie did like a trade, you can have the monkeys in the window and then give us some of the meat and the bones and that for the animals.”
