“Buying the property was for the animals, mom and dad needed the space for the animals to live, and then grandma and grandpa Christmas they were just two streets over, it was kind of both of those items. And then Bob and I were pretty young, you know it was time to get out of the city. I think the bigger part of purchasing Langley was room for the animals, you know winter quarters. (Wendy: quite a bit cheaper land in Langley) Well, but even at that time it was everything that they could do to squeeze the money to buy that.”
