Remembering William Francis (1816 – 1894)

William Francis’ father, Joseph Francis, came to Fredericton as a slave and servant to the Odell family.
His mother, Hannah, came to Fredericton as a slave and servant to Rev Frederick Dibblee of Meductic and Woodstock.
Transcription:
Mr. William Francis, a much respected colored gentleman who has long been a resident of the place, passed away after a long siege of illness. His father and mother came out with the Loyalists, his father with the O’Dell’s and mother with the Dibblee’s.
