Horace Brown

Horace Brown was two years younger than Roy and according to their youngest brother Howard, the two were very different children growing up. Horace was quiet, introverted, and had a passion for photography. Roy was an active, social young man who went to many social outings and dances. Horace kept up his passion for photography even after he joined the military, and his photographs of the front lines of Europe provided insight into what soldiers experienced every day. After being injured, he returned to Canada to promote the war effort and encourage volunteers. Horace joined the air force in 1918 and was completing his training in England when, in February of 1919, he contracted Influenza and died.
