The Carleton Place hockey team during the 1911-12 season. Roy is in the back row, second from the left. Roy’s natural athleticism meant he played many sports competitively and he even had aspirations of playing hockey professionally. His parents encouraged him to pursue academics instead as a better way to guarantee a successful future.
