Off-camera voice: Good evening. Could you please tell us your name and talk about the first show you ever saw at the Carrefour mondial de l’accordéon?

Patrick Morency: My name is Patrick Morency. I’ve spent my entire life in Montmagny. I have a special connection to the festival because it’s where I went on my very first date with my current girlfriend. Well, she’s my wife now. So the first time I went to the Carrefour de l’accordéon must have been in 1994, since it was my first date with my girlfriend. I was living with my parents, close to the festival. But we weren’t quite sure what to do. We knew each other a little, but we didn’t know what to do. I said: “Why don’t we go to the Carrefour mondial de l’accordéon? They say it’s interesting.” So that’s how we ended up going to Manoir Couillard-Dupuis. We talked to the different craftsmen and watched the performances. That’s why I remember it so well.
