Canadian author Jane Rule talks about the LGBTQ2S+ community’s most courageous people at a Words Without Borders press conference.
Rule: “We have radical fighters on the street which do the hardest work. And then, people frightened, startled, uneasy, begin to ask questions, and they ask questions of us – the less radical people who make a kind of rational bridge across. The people out there being visible and who say“No, we are not acceptable. We don’t fit in.” are the ones doing the hardest work for us. And we should not be knocking each other, we should not be feeling ashamed of our most courageous people.”
