The zero-waste project – Suzanne Lemay-Robitaille

Zero waste, I have a granddaughter who’s one of the ones who talked about it. She’s 13 now, and she said, “Grandma, you should make sandwich bags for kids because there’s, we’ve got to stop wasting plastic.” We have to look after the earth and everything, the conversation that can go with that. And I said, “Well Grandma has already started.” And actually, I think it didn’t… it went pretty well. I’d been to an exhibition at the library that was put on by the city. And there was a booth on zero waste, and that got me interested. I saw some of the things she was making and that sort of gave me the idea to make it. We’ve got sandwich and snack bags, and also bags for produce. When you go to the grocery store, soon there won’t be bags for your tomatoes, you know, your apples, things like that. They’ll still sell bags – big bags of apples, but when you buy two or three apples, you’ll need a bag, you’ll need something.
