Well, I had some basic crocheting skills, but I wanted to get back into crocheting and… This was one of the best places to start… The women help us – we help each other – and it’s such a social environment. I knew a bit about the Fermières from my mother… That’s what made me start thinking I’d like to come. And it was in the evening too, once a week. It was pleasant, it was social. Uh… you keep working at it, eh, it’s like anything you do… When you’re doing an activity, you try something small, and then you say to yourself, “I think I’ll do another one, and that way I’ll get better.” So now, I’m making big afghans that take me a year or two to finish… To begin with, I was making little things like slippers, and now I’ve got to the point of making big afghans to cover a whole bed. So, you keep working at it, you know, when you like something, you throw yourself into it.
