Built to stay out late – Ginette Lemay

For Valentine’s Day, they asked me if I could go and help out. You know, I was, I had two kids, I dunno, back then, I think that was when I had two kids. And I said to my husband, “Well, they’re all old folks, it’ll be over by 10:30!” [laughter] It ended at one in the morning! They did the draw for the Valentine Queen and King, and my name got picked – I never win anything, but my name got picked. So then they all wanted to dance with the Valentine Queen. They said… and I said, “I’m tired, you know, I’m a bit tired, it’s late!” And they said, “Come on! You’re young!” But they’d all had a nap in the afternoon. And I’d got up at a quarter to six, you know [chuckles]. So by 10:30 or 11, it was… But it was fun, it was, the fun and games and all that were so enjoyable. That’s something we used to do back in the day.
