Every year, the federation… the provincial federation of the Cercle des Fermières organizes competitions… sewing, knitting, embroidery… and there’s what we call “fancy.” In 2014, they included Romanian embroidery. I’d never heard of that. I took the course and no one wanted to do it. I thought I should participate in every section of the competition, every category. Try to enter a piece in every one. So, I started a piece. I thought I must be crazy, because I’d never made one before. [chuckles] And then, to my surprise, I won third prize that year. I couldn’t believe it, I thought, come on, I’ve never done that kind of work before, how did I… but yes, I came in third. And I’ve brought it for you… So, this is the design I made. The number of hours… I should say the number of weeks. It took me practically a month to make.
