Interview with Hélène Lamouche, Cercle de Fermières Saint-Eustache’s president
I kind of put out of my head the idea that we were just old ladies sitting around knitting. That’s not what it is at all. There are still people who think that, but it’s not. Of course, there are some who knit, yes, we gab, but… It’s a lot more than that now. It’s really a lot of organizations, a lot of assistance… Uh… You know, we make donations. We make donations to schools. We donate school supplies and money. To schools in poor areas. We do that every year. We donate sweaters… to the same two schools, the children. Homeless people… We give to them too… We’ve given to [the palliative care home] Sercan, we give… You know, we give a lot, but we don’t make a big show of it. We know all the giving we do, it’s a lot. We give a lot.
