Well, I enjoyed my entire career at the cemetery.
The board of directors gave me a lot of latitudes in which I was able to make improvements to the cemetery. With their approval, I found new ways of doing things or if I needed a new machine to cut the grass. They were always open to these new ideas, and I appreciated it a lot. The running of the cemetery was an important venture on my part, and I wanted to make sure the cemetery would look nice. I wanted the place to be a place of beauty for people to visit.
Mount Hermon Cemetery had such a history you only have to walk the cemetery and look at the headstones. You will see that the English community had lawyers, construction workers and shipbuilders.
The shipbuilding industry involved a lot of people, and it wasn’t just about to build a ship; they had many industries that helped the maritime industry and the lumber exports.
These people responsible for the opening of Mount Hermon Cemetery because some of them are actually on the board, and they made sure that Mount Hermon Cemetery was going to be a place of beauty.
