The tea party

At the cemetery, tea parties were a way to integrate family, friends and sometimes visitors. The garden behind the lodge was the place where the tea parties were usually held.

While working at Marchmont, William Treggett was enamoured with the tea parties that were held there. This tradition goes back to the time of the Lumber Merchants and Ship Builders as they enjoyed entertaining nobility on their vast estates.
