High altar crafted by sculptor Philippe Liébert (1733-1804) in 1794. Born in France, this sculptor is considered as the master sculptor of his time.
This high altar is sculpted from common wood species found at the time such as walnut, pine, and lime-tree. It is painted and decorated with gold leaf. In 1965, it was classified by the Quebec government with regards to its exceptional artistic and historic attributes.
