On April 1st, 2016, a conference was held upon completion of renovations to inaugurate the conversion of the Très-Saint-Rédempteur church into a community center. The event was entitled: Churches as tools of local development. It was organised by the Musée régional de Vaudreuil-Soulanges in collaboration with the Vaudreuil-Soulanges MRC, the Canada Research Chair in Urban Heritage ESG-UQAM and the Très-Saint-Rédempteur municipality. Over one hundred participants from around the province were invited to discuss and share on the importance of churches in Quebec’s cultural landscape.
