Reconstitution of the seigneurial 1740 chapel in Notre-Dame-de-l’Île-Perrot, 1953

As farmers were working in their fields, in the Pointe-du-Moulin sector in Notre-Dame-de-l’Île-Perrot, they found a lead plaque amid buried stones, bearing Latin inscriptions and the date of 1740. After some research, it was concluded that they were the stones used to build the seigneurial chapel of 1740 and the plaque of consecration.
In 1953, thanks to sponsors, the chapel was rebuilt with the original stones on the site of the current Sainte-Jeanne-de-Chantal church. Today this chapel bears the name of Chapelle du Souvenir.
