Gruenhornhutte built by the Swiss Alpine Club in 1863

Gruenhornhutte was the first alpine hut built by a European Mountaineering Club near Mount Todis in the Glarus Alps. Over a century and a half later, there are more than 1,300 alpine huts operating in the Alps.
