Himmelsbach Hut with ski-tourer

John Baldwin recalled, “My first trip there on skis was on [cross-country] skis in 1974 with Anders Ourom and Alex Szabo. Anders had real touring skis and had more experience than us and led the way…The hut used to shake in storms as the wind whipped over the ridge and came down across Russet Lake.”
