Mount Garibaldi

Captain George Vancouver was the first European to set eyes on Mount Garibaldi during his exploration of Howe Sound. However, the mountain was named in 1860 by Captain George Henry Richards after the Italian military general and political figure Giuseppe Garibaldi, who helped unite Italy.
