“The schooner Jessie Drummond was totally wrecked by the storm on Lake Ontario. Her crew of 7 persons were rescued without loss of life by the life saving crew of Cobourg.
The Drummond with a cargo of 600 tons of soft coal left Oswego last Saturday but was forced to seek shelter at Charlotte on account of Monday’s storm.
She left Charlotte at noon yesterday and ran for Cobourg. The vessel missed the harbor lights and stranded in the full sweep of the seas. She was owned by Herb Milne of Oakville, Ont.”
